north on MT 49. Two Medicine is at the end of the nine mi access
road which begins there.
From St Mary, MT, go 20 mi south on US 89 to the Kiowa Campground.
Take MT 49 (Looking Glass Hill Rd) west nine mi to the Two Medicine
access road. Looking Glass Hill has narrow switchbacks without
appreciable guardrails. Pavement slumps, which are an inch or two
deep here and there, have been patched, but be careful. Ultimately

panorama.

Ground Squirrel, Two Medicine Campground, Glacier
Park
At Two Medicine, you don't go to the wildlife; the wildlife
comes to you. Inquisitive, intelligent, and brazen, this ground
squirrel makes his rounds for handouts. As always, tourists are
cautioned against reinforcing such behavior. Wild animals may
appear tame; nevertheless, they will butt or bite unpredictably
when they feel threatened. Their innate feeding habits have evolved
to ensure winter survival and are completely disrupted by the least
amount of exotic food.
